I’m Meg Brackenbury, an LPC Associate supervised by Cherie Miller, LPC-S, CEDS, IEDS. I hold a BS in Psychology from Abilene Christian University and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas.
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults navigating eating disorders, OCD, trauma, and dissociation. Many of my clients are thoughtful, driven, and highly capable—but internally feel stuck in cycles of overcontrol, anxiety, or disconnection. Whether it’s rigid food rules, intrusive thoughts, or a sense of being disconnected from yourself or your body, therapy becomes a place to both understand what’s happening and actively encounter it in the present moment.
My work is relational and skills-focused, integrating RO-DBT, ERP, and trauma-informed stabilization. I focus on helping clients build flexibility, reconnect with their internal experience, and move toward a life that feels more open and aligned—not just manageable.
I often incorporate parts-based work when treating eating disorders and dissociation, and I collaborate closely with dietitians and other providers when part of a treatment team.
I am trained in DBT for Adolescents and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), and I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, and the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies.
Outside of work, I live in the DFW area with my one-eyed Staffordshire terrier, Goose—who takes her role as my personal outdoor activity coordinator very seriously. I enjoy gardening, hiking, and reading.
