Brittany Kreft is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Katura Counseling. While working in Big 4 accounting post college, she discovered her true passion for helping others sort through life’s difficult moments, wrestle with questions of “am I good enough”, & uncover ways to make life better. Since then, Brittany has worked in outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), day treatment (PHP), and inpatient settings, primarily with adolescents and young adults experiencing difficulty with unexpected changes, chronic medical illness, depression, anxiety, self-destructive coping skills, low self-esteem, work/life balance concerns, sports performance anxiety & vocational performance anxiety.
Her goal is to provide a place for others to unload life’s heavy moments. She hopes clients leave sessions feeling heard, unburdened, & confident in their ability to respond skillfully in moments of stress & unhelpful thinking. She aims to not only support, encourage, & shed light on lies that may be present, but also provide instruction on how to gain insight, emotional awareness, & tools to soften difficult blows. Brittany offers a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), CBT-I (for those with sleep difficulties), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, motivational interviewing (MI), and theophostic prayer ministry (TPM) to fit each individual’s needs.
When Brittany is not working, she can be found enjoying the outdoors with family – whether it’s a hike or a picnic at a near-by park, training for half marathons, or wake-boarding on the lake. She also loves trying new recipes with her husband, & reading historical fiction. She is an active member at Northway Church & will gladly incorporate Gospel-centered principles into treatment, upon requested.
