Joellen Walter

LPC-Intern

Joellen is supervised by Michael Ashenfelter, LPC-S

Do you feel like the hole in the donut? Have you ever felt like the world is coming apart at the seams? Maybe you struggle with addiction, mental illness, stress, anxiety, motivation, depression or just being misunderstood? Often finding the answer inside your own head feels like walking through a bad neighborhood unarmed.

I have spent the last two decades of my life on this journey. I am a certified personal trainer, a sober woman and Licensed Professional Counseling Intern supervised by Michael Ashenfelter, LPC-S. I have worked with professionals and individuals trying to find a healthy balance between work, self care and home. I have worked in the jails, and with addicts extensively throughout my life. My passion has always included young people whether adolescents or adults as they struggle to find their voice in the world.

Counseling is often scary and misunderstood endeavor. My goal is not to “fix” you, rather to act as a support system and sounding board to bring you to a level of internal congruency which allows you to feel whole again. Seeking internal balance and identity allows all the other parts of life to act as your support system rather than a “slave driving” boss.

I spend my free time playing softball, riding my bike, working out and enjoying my own company. I love the outdoors and to be close to friends.

Life can be hard and walking the journey alone can be depressing and lonely. Give me a call, send me an email or schedule an appointment today to start living a new life.
